🍎 Cinnamon Roll Apple Pie Bombs
Warm cinnamon rolls stuffed with buttery cinnamon apples, topped with crunchy pecans, powdered sugar, and plenty of creamy icing. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert!
Ingredients:
- 1 can refrigerated cinnamon roll dough (8–10 rolls), icing reserved
- 2 medium apples, peeled, cored & diced
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
- Powdered sugar, for topping
Directions:
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a muffin pan or small baking dish.
2️⃣ Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples begin to soften and the mixture becomes syrupy. Stir in vanilla.
3️⃣ Separate the cinnamon rolls and gently flatten each piece of dough into a circle.
4️⃣ Spoon about 1–2 tablespoons of apple filling into the center. Pull the edges of the dough around the filling and pinch them together to seal.
5️⃣ Place each filled roll seam-side down in the prepared pan. Sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts over the tops.
6️⃣ Bake for 18–25 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown. Baking time may vary depending on the cinnamon roll dough.
7️⃣ Let cool for about 5 minutes, then drizzle generously with the reserved cinnamon roll icing.
8️⃣ Finish with a dusting of powdered sugar and extra chopped nuts. Serve warm so the gooey apple filling and icing spill out with every bite! 🤤🍎
Tip: For an extra decadent version, warm the icing for a few seconds before pouring it over the rolls.
