Ingredients

Dough
• 3¼ cups all-purpose flour
• 2¼ tsp active dry yeast
• ¼ cup granulated sugar
• ½ tsp salt
• ¾ cup warm milk
• ¼ cup melted butter
• 1 large egg

Apple Pie Filling
• 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
• 2 tbsp butter
• ¼ cup brown sugar
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• ¼ tsp nutmeg
• 1 tsp lemon juice

Cinnamon Filling
• 4 tbsp softened butter
• ½ cup brown sugar
• 1½ tbsp cinnamon

Vanilla Glaze
• 1 cup powdered sugar
• 2 tbsp milk
• ½ tsp vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Combine warm milk, yeast, and a pinch of sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.

  2. Add melted butter, egg, sugar, salt, and flour. Mix until a soft dough forms, then knead for 6–8 minutes until smooth.

  3. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled.

  4. Melt butter in a skillet. Add apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Cook for 5–7 minutes until the apples are tender. Let cool.

  5. Roll the dough into a large rectangle. Spread with softened butter, then sprinkle evenly with brown sugar and cinnamon.

  6. Spoon the cooled apple mixture over the dough.

  7. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 9–12 rolls.

  8. Arrange the rolls in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 25–30 minutes.

  9. Bake at 350°F for 22–28 minutes, until golden brown.

  10. Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle generously over the warm rolls.

🍂 Serve warm while the centers are soft and the apple filling is still gooey.
